Manuscript Assessment

I am available to read manuscripts and provide feedback on structure, plot, pacing, genre, characterisation and language.

Scouting & Representation

Spot the next classic of African literature, and find writers who are breaking the mould. I will consider representing African writers on a case by case basis.

Writing Reviews

I write literary and cultural criticism and like to review African novels, contemporary, literary and historical.

Business Development

I have fundraised for the Caine Prize, the Kiswahili Prize and Short Story Day Africa, as well as my own Arts Council funded projects, such as Thinking Outside the Penalty Box and the 10th Anniversary Caine Prize tour.

Speaking Engagements

I have chaired in-person conversations between Caine Prize shortlisted writers at Waterstones Piccadilly, the Royal Overseas League and the British Library, as well as online with the Radical Books Collective and Catalyst Press.

Mentoring

Empowering emerging writers to move to the next level of their creative lives/careers.

I mentored Arenike Adebajo for TLC, who has since been signed by David Higham Associates.
