I am the co-founder of the Safal Kiswahili Prize for African Literature, founded in 2014 with Mukoma wa Ngugi.

In almost ten years we have awarded over $100,000 USD to writers working in Kiswahili.

We work with Mkuki na Nyota publishers in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to publish the winning manuscripts.
