I have written literary reviews & articles for different publications including The Guardian, Africa is a County, The Conversation Africa, Brittle Paper and the LA Review of Books.

My first book, Blood on the Page: Interviews with African Authors writing about HIV/AIDS, was published in 2010. 

Teaching profile

I teach World Literature at Richmond, the American University in London to undergraduates, and have taught at Goldsmith’s, Kings College London, SOAS and Rhodes University in South Africa.

Projects

I am currently engaged on various different projects including acting as UK Director at Short Story Day Africa, and the Co-Founder of the Safal Kiswahili Prize.
